Amor a la Mexicana: 1940s Art

Amor a la Mexicana ❤️ circa 1940-1950 by Eduardo Cataño. Following the Mexican Revolution a new standard of living was introduced to 🇲🇽; the development of large cities, a push for education, consumerism and with it came “Mexican Calendar” art. Mexican calendars were not only a favorite gift from businesses to their customers (printed with company info and advertising slogans) but they were filled with images of nostalgic/romantic México. Today these images/paintings are found across museums as emblems of Mexican cultura, heritage and pride ❤️ ¡Feliz Día del Amor!
