Clothing1 year ago3 Views

Pachucas between the 1940-1950. Pachucas belonged to the Pachuquísmo subculture and were characterized by their distinctive style of dress. The zoot suit became a symbol of unapologetic Chicano pride, a call for gender equality, statement of protest against racism, anti-war efforts, and more. Wartime rationing of fabrics during WWII led those outside of the community to view zoot suits as unpatriotic and those wearing them subject to harassment.
