Nearly twelve years after her tragic passing, the legendary Jenni Rivera, La Diva de la Banda, is set to receive a long-overdue honor: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The unveiling ceremony will take place on June 27, 2024, outside Capitol Records on Vine Street, a location rich with music history and personal meaning for the Rivera family.

This recognition is more than just a moment for Jenni’s fans; it’s a milestone for Latinas, for regional Mexican music, and for every woman who’s ever dared to defy expectations.
Born and raised in Long Beach to immigrant parents, Rivera shattered barriers in a male-dominated genre and became one of the top-selling regional Mexican artists of all time. She wasn’t just a powerhouse vocalist, she was a fierce advocate for women, a devoted mother, and a businesswoman who never forgot where she came from.

Her voice was raw and real. Her lyrics spoke to heartbreak, resilience, and womanhood; themes that resonated across borders and generations. And even after her untimely death in 2012, Jenni’s influence only grew stronger. Her music, her story, and her legacy continue to inspire millions.
The location is especially meaningful: years ago, Jenni parked outside Capitol Records and told her kids, “One day I’ll have my star here.” That dream, like many of hers, is now becoming a reality.
With her star joining those of legends like Selena Quintanilla just steps away, the honor cements Jenni Rivera’s place in music history not just as a performer, but as a symbol of cultural pride and unapologetic strength.
